To inspire others to travel with a social consciousness and promote economic equity through tourism!
My name is Magdala Randolphe. Although I was born and raised in the Caribbean Island, Haiti, I spend the majority of my life in the United States.
I have lived in four different states and appreciate each one of them for my worldly views. Since the age of 19, I have traveled to over 40 countries, as a solo traveler and visited 20 states in the United States.
I consider myself as a global citizen.
Being a global citizen means seeing the world through different lenses: a moral sense and an awareness and an understanding.
During my travels, I love to engage with people, learn the history and cultures. From those travels experience, the BlackgirlZen blog is created.
Zen means a total state of focus that incorporates togetherness of body and mind.
BlackgirlZen is a travel blog that shares tips, guides, and stories to help others travel with awareness of the less touristy countries and towns that will benefit from tourism for a richer cultural experience.
I don’t travel or blog for a living. I have a full-time job. I am also a vegan and will share some tips on how I survive as a vegan when I travel.
My books blog features the books I am reading during my travels.
I feel that as travelers, we owe to ourselves to help spread economic equity and cultural awareness and understanding of our vacation destinations to become well informed of the world.
Peace and love,
