Autumn Escapes: Discover the 3 Best Destinations to Travel and Embrace the Beauty of Fall

Summer eventually winds down. While that means cooler weather and less sunshine, it doesn’t mean traveling stops. In fact, the fall season is one of the best times to take vacations. The prices are much lower. You can find lots of great deals on airfares and hotels. Places like Europe and the Caribbean Islands are not crowded and expensive.

The kids are back to school, and the adults are now entirely focused on work. You can take advantage of the low costs and enjoy your favorite countries in a much peaceful way.

Here are my 3 best places to travel during the fall:

Explore the Panama Canal

Water seems to be everywhere in Panama. But many of the five hundred rivers are short and do not lead to other rivers, lakes, or any of the harbors. Of course, all that crystal clear water is fantastic for travelers who love snorkeling, diving or lie on a beach soaking in the sun rays.

While in Panama everyone must venture over to the Panama Canal. It is an artificial waterway that is forty-eight miles long and connects both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This canal was opened in 1914. The best time to visit is later in the afternoon when more ships are passing through the channel.

Tranquility is something that all travelers look for at some point during their vacations. The Bocas del Toro islands are the best place to find it in Panama. Travelers can explore the Indian village, hike through the forest, and surf on these islands. But no visitors can leave Panama until they have experienced the phenomenal nightlife.

Everyone can find an abundance of history everywhere that they go to Panama, but it is especially prevalent in Casco Viejo. The buildings in this area were constructed in 1763. And they replaced the original buildings that were destroyed when pirates attacked the city. As you walk around Casco Viejo, make sure you visit the El Palacio de las Garzas, Saint Francis of Assisi, and La Catedral Metropolitana.

Visit the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador

ecuador-travelNumerous Amerindians lived in Ecuador before the area became an Inca Empire in the 15th century. Both groups of people have helped create the diversity the country experiences today. While Spanish is the primary language of Ecuador, there are also thirteen Amerindian languages spoken throughout the country.

There are plenty of things to do while vacationing in Ecuador. But, the most popular choice is cruising around the Galápagos Islands. During a cruise, you can swim with sea lions and learn how the entire area was formed by volcanoes.

Everyone knows how the equator splits the northern and southern hemispheres. But Ecuador is not the only country where you can stand with one foot on one side and the other on the other side of the imaginary line.

Ecuador is famous for the volcano, Chimborazo, located on the furthest point from the earth’s center. Chimborazo stands at 20,565 feet. It is not as tall as Mount Everest, but there are apparent differences that allow it to tower every other mountain in the world. After all, Chimborazo is 3,967 miles from the center of the earth.

No one can leave Ecuador without taking the time to explore the Amazon, and it is the cheapest place to do it. You can wander through the rainforest, learn about the local wildlife and the indigenous people that live there.

Visit the Islands of the Bahamas

There are more than seven hundred islands in the Bahamas, but many people focus their travels on only a couple of them. Most people choose to visit Nassau on New Providence Island because there are plenty of things to do.

First, everyone should visit the Atlantis at some point after arriving in Nassau. It is a little piece of paradise that overlooks the waters of the Caribbean. Guests can spend time on the beach, swim with the dolphins, or just lay on the beach. Still bored, you can test your luck in the casino or take a swim in the crystal blue water. It is possible to bring home some money from your casino winnings.

There are some favorite excursions in the Bahamas. Some tours will take you all over the island, while others are boat trips to explore the nearby islands.

Shopping is accessible near the port in Nassau, and the best place to go is on Bay Street. Lined with numerous shops, you can buy gems and diamonds at a reasonable cost than anywhere else in the Caribbean.

Do not forget to visit the straw market. It is a beautiful place to pick up a few souvenirs, but be aware that the vendors can be a little aggressive.

The weather in all three of these destinations is spectacular during the fall months. You can enjoy sunny skies and warm temperatures while away from home. There so many other countries I could include in on this list.
